  2. Buy or borrow the text/ journal chosen for the group to discuss
  3. Try and read it before the event so you can take part in the discussion
  4. Come to find out something new, share your thoughts and discuss with others working with young children and their families

STEEPmeet is a free event for Early Years professionals interested in hearing about the practice going on in other settings.

You will hear five presentations from EY colleagues, willing to talk about an aspect of the work they do; sharing areas of practice they feel positive about that has developed over time.

If you are interested in sharing your work at one of our event please contact Nikki Oldhams Headteacher nikki@chelwood.lewisham.sch.uk

We plan for each presentation to last 7-10 minutes followed by a short question and answer session.

Potential Contributors

If you are considering contacting us about sharing your practice at one of these events please think about the following:

This is an opportunity to share practice from a number of colleagues.

We are planning for each contributor to share for a max of 10 mins followed by an opportunity for colleagues to reflect on what’s been shared ask questions and develop ideas collaboratively.

A laptop and screen and display table will be available should you wish to use them to share photos, resources with colleagues to etc.

Here are some things to think about when considering what you might like to share:

What area of your practice are you currently reflecting on and developing?

How did this come about?

Is it an area that has emerged in response to:

  • observation of children?
  • a child’s comment?
  • conversations with colleagues?
  • your session evaluations
  • family questions or comments
  • issues arising from the needs of a particular cohort of children?
  • you professional reading?
  • government steer/ policy?
  • whole school policy development?
  • training you have attended?

Tell us your journey so far the successes and challenges

What are you noticing now where are you thinking of going next?

We look forward to hearing from you!
